The Greater Kansas City Dog Training Club was founded in 1953, to further the enhancement of all breeds of purebred dogs, to take an active interest in the welfare, popularity and understanding of dogs and dog owners in the community, and to conduct AKC sanctioned trials in obedience, agility and tracking.

We offer training classes to the general public, taught by our member-volunteers. All of the volunteers who teach have obedience titles at least equivalent to the level they are teaching. Among our members we include people interested in all facets of the sport of purebred dogs. Whether your interest is in therapy dog, tracking, agility, competition obedience, some of the lesser known dog sports (lure coursing, earthdog trials, carting or waterdog competitions), or just in having a well-behaved pet, you will find someone who shares your enthusiasm.

In addition to training classes for all levels of obedience, we offer community education in the form of demonstrations, school programs, and appearances at special functions. We have speakers available on a variety of topics from animal/human communication to dog/child safety programs. Our community education team can be reached at the number below.

Membership is open to persons who are interested in the world of dogs. Please check out our membership page for more information.
